View of one of the many bodies of water on the Sabel course at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club in Ft. Myers, Fl. It is one of my favorite views on the course. It was painted completely in studio and from a photo of a very gray day rendering the image almost black and white. I wanted to warm it up and give some mood to the landscape.
This was taken from a reference photo of two guys fishing on Pines Lake. It is actually from our backyard and everyday I am reminded how blessed I am to be able to see such natural beauty. And to also be reminded that beauty is there if we just look around and 'be in the moment'.
This is one of the many lakeside views we get to enjoy everyday. Since our lake does not allow gas powered motors, there are plenty of battery powered pontoon boats. No pollution and no noise! I feel it captures the peaceful serenity which is so relaxing and inviting here in Pines Lake.
This was small study of Pines Lake. I wanted to do a painting for an online challenge of primary colors and this worked out perfectly with these being the actual colors of the boats across the lake!
At the end of Summer there is a quiet stillness in the air around Pines Lake.
The air is cooler, kids go back to school, and summer vacations are fond memories.
Soon the trees will turn brilliant shades of red and gold.
This is the view from our backyard and today I felt compelled to capture it on canvas. Perhaps when the trees are bare and the ground is frozen, this will be a warm reminder of summers past.
This is a little friend I came across while I was at the Laurelwood Arboretum here in NJ. It was the beginning of the season, many of the beautiful varieties of plants and flowers were in bloom and I wanted to be sure to get enough photos to use as references for when I paint. I had forgotten I had these pictures, (which happens alot lately!), so I'm glad I discovered them again. It's amazing what I find when I go through my computer! Lots of photos of friends and family and some really nice memories.
